Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is the ministry of God’s welcoming embrace symbolized by the Church’s acceptance of new members of the family of Catholic Christians. RCIA is a journey of faith that un-baptized persons as well as baptized persons complete with the help of a sponsor, the catechists, the discernment team, and, above all, on the strength of their own conviction.
The only requirements for joining are an open heart and a desire to learn and become community. The only requirements for completing the journey are a good record of attendance and the development of a Catholic identity.
Have you been thinking about joining the Church? Do you feel Catholic? Would you like to deeper meaning for your presence at Sunday’s liturgy? If you answered “yes” to any of those questions, prayerfully consider joining on the path of discovery of your true spiritual identity.
Inquiry sessions are scheduled the second and fourth Mondays of each month at 7:15 pm in Room 405 of Anthony Hall. These sessions provide an opportunity to have your questions answered. Inquiry sessions take place Monday evenings.
If you are an adult who is considering becoming Catholic, call Gladys Whitehouse, 847-8205 x236 or email Gladys to discuss the RCIA.
