In accordance with our parish mission statement, we reach out to provide spiritual nourishment for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people and their families and friends. We seek to affirm the intrinsic value and self-worth of all people and to welcome them into full participation in the faith community. All GLBT people are welcome. We also welcome friends and family of GLBT people and anyone who might be questioning what it means to be a supportive Catholic for GLBT parishioners. Whatever your religious tradition, please know you are welcome to pray and worship with us. You can obtain our full list of events and programs from our Ministry Brochure 2012-2013.
GLBT Small Christian Community
In a parish as large as St. Francis, it can be difficult to get a sense of belonging. Small groups through our ministries or a small Christian community, SCC, have been one of the best ways to get engaged and feel a part of the parish. SCC’s at St. Francis have been invigorated the last two years. We now have 30 groups meeting regularly as part of the program. Since these groups started, our GLBT ministry has had a small Christian community. We hope you will join us this fall for a new six week series of Scripture reflection.
We will meet on Sunday afternoons at 4 p.m. in Anthony Hall (church building) beginning October 13 and continuing through November 17. If you can’t come every week, join us when you can. Allies, family and friends too: ALL ARE WELCOME!
