Our mission is to assist communities in their recovery efforts following devastating damage from hurricanes and natural disasters. We organize and send delegations of St. Francis parishioners to hard-hit regions.
In recent years, we sent delegations to help communities affected by Superstorm Sandy, Hurricane Irene and tornadoes in North Carolina. We have also assisted in rebuilding homes for survivors of Hurricane Ike in Galveston, Texas in 2009, participated in relief efforts following the devastating earthquake in Haiti in 2011 and assisted with rebuilding and relief after the 2005 Hurricane Katrina.
Working under the auspices and guidance of local area programs, St. Francis delegates assist in the cleaning and rebuilding of affected homes, usually working side by side with the homeowners so that they can eventually return to their homes and neighborhoods.
