This ministry knits/crochets prayers and yarn into shawls, blankets, lap robes, hats and scarves. These gifts are then presented to those in need of comfort, in hopes they will gain strength from the prayers that surround them in the form of the Prayer Shawl gift. The Prayer Shal Ministry has distributed 887 items since Nov. 2011 of hats, scarves, baby blankets & sweaters, mittens, etc. to CPO, St. Francis Inn, Moore Square, Our Lady of the jRosary, Raleigh Rescue Mission and The Healig Place. This does not include Prayer Shawls and Lap Robes that were given out.
I have ben in this ministry since it began, I find it fulfilling and relevant and know I am helping those in need.
There is always a need for scarves, hats or any warm knitted items for those in need. We would welcome your participation.
