This 2011-12 JustFaith group at St. Francis enjoyed the experience so much that they continue meeting as a Small Christian Community.
JustFaith focuses on discipleship of Jesus and God’s call to live with justice and compassion in a world scarred by the domestic and global crisis called poverty.
JustFaith participants meet weekly for four six-session modules in small groups. Participants are invited to a lively and challenging process of spiritual transformation through books, videos, discussion, prayer, retreats and meetings with people experiencing poverty and injustice.
The intent is to provide learning opportunities that bring to life the healing work of God’s compassion found in Scripture, church teaching, and the stories of people of faith working to bring about peace and justice. The program aims to deepen our understanding of our faith in relation to social justice issues confronting the world today.
Our parish has offered this program for 10 years, and many of the most active members of our ministries have credited JustFaith with opening their eyes and inspiring them to live the Gospel’s call to compassion more deeply.
